Get Ready for the Coldest Night of the Year on February 22, 2025
As winter settles in, we’re gearing up for one of the most impactful events of the year: the Coldest Night of the Year. This annual walk brings communities together to support vital programs addressing poverty and homelessness in Simcoe Muskoka.
This year, United Way Simcoe Muskoka is proud to support two incredible events:
- In Bradford, we’re partnering with WOW Living to support Ground Work, a wrap-around program helping individuals living in poverty through life stabilization training, barrier-free mental health supports, mentorship, and pathways to employment. With $283,601.62 already committed, we aim to raise $100,000 to deepen our impact. Register or donate at www.cnoy.org/location/bradford
- In Midland, we’re teaming up with The Guesthouse Shelter to expand support for those at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Funds raised will help provide shelter, in-house support, and connections to long-term stability services. Our goal: $50,000. Register or donate at www.cnoy.org/location/midland
Join us for this meaningful winter event. Together, we can walk, fundraise, and build a stronger, more caring community.
As the year comes to a close, we reflect on the incredible moments that defined 2024, including the celebration of our community champions at the Annual General Meeting in Midhurst, Ontario. The Stronger Community Awards honoured outstanding organizations and individuals who exemplify the spirit of collaboration and innovation in building a better Simcoe Muskoka.
Impact Innovator – Environment Network, for their tireless work in poverty reduction.
Catalyst for Change – MiND-AID, for their creative solutions to combat social isolation.
Champion of Collaboration – Barrie Public Library, CFS Counselling and Wellbeing, and County of Simcoe, for fostering partnerships that strengthen our region.
These highlights remind us of what we can achieve together. Thank you to all who make this work possible, and here’s to continuing to move people from poverty to possibility in the year ahead.
