Coldest Night of the Year
Thank you to everyone who donated, walked and volunteered for Coldest Night of the Year 2025!
Together we raised almost $80,000 in Bradford.
Together we raised more than $52,000 in Midland.

The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly walk to raise money for local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.
This year in Bradford, funds were raised for Groundwork, led by WOW Living. Groundwork is a wrap-around program for individuals aged 15 years and older living in poverty in South Simcoe. The program provides consistent support to individuals by incorporating group training, barrier free mental health supports, mentorship and safe employment opportunities.
In Midland, your United Way partnered with The Guesthouse Shelter, an organization that is dedicated to providing food and shelter in a safe environment within North Simcoe that cares for those in physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual need.
The Urgent Needs Fund in Midland is a lifeline for those facing hunger, hurt, or homelessness. By providing microgrants to low-income households, they bridge the gap when traditional support systems fall short. These grants are more than just financial assistance; they offer hope and dignity to individuals struggling to meet their basic needs. The Home Relief Bank helps those in Midland at risk of homelessness with interest free loans for those having trouble making their rent or mortgage payments. This keeps people in their homes during a challenging time.
So, build a team, rally friends, family, neighbours, and co-workers, as every step taken, and every dollar raised contributes to these organization’s efforts to reduce poverty in our community.
