Volunteer Appreciation

April 14-20 is National Volunteer Week.

It is estimated that almost 8 million people across Ontario are actively volunteering in their community. By lending support to charities like your United Way, volunteers are the backbone of the not-for-profit sector.

They provide governance and oversight at our board tables.

They help raise funds to put our mission and vision into action.

They deliver frontline supports and services for the people who need it most.

On behalf of all the charities and not-for-profit organizations doing good work across our region, please join me in thanking the thousands of individuals who give of their time and talent in support of causes near and dear to their heart.

Whether it be by coaching kids’ sports team, serving as a board member of a charity, or helping out at your local food bank, by volunteering, YOU are building a stronger Simcoe Muskoka for everyone.

If you are interested in a meaningful volunteer experience, your United Way is seeking new members to join our Board of Directors. If this is of interest to you, please visit our director page for more information.

Thank you.
