May 2026 Newsletter

We all want to make a lasting impact through our donations. By including United Way Simcoe Muskoka in your estate plans, you can help strengthen communities across our region for generations to come.

Planned gifts can take many forms: a bequest in your will, gifts of securities, or life insurance. These options allow you to align your personal values with long-term community impact, while often providing financial and tax benefits to you and your family.

Letting us know about your plans is equally important. It helps us understand your vision, ensure your future gift reflects what matters most to you, and recognize your generosity today. If you’ve already included United Way in your plans, please reach out so we can honour your intentions and steward your legacy with care.

If you are interested in learning more, join us on June 13 in Barrie for a planned giving event cohosted with RBC Dominion Securities.

Together, we can build stronger communities for generations to come.

Your United Way in Action

Art has a way of bringing people together like nothing else. Our community collaborative project, The Art Engagement Project, led by Making Change and facilitated at Forest Hill Public School in Midhurst did exactly that, sparking a full Cultural Diversity Community Day complete with diversity-focused art, live music, poetry performances, and an unforgettable dance performance from the Grade 2s and 3s. This is what community looks like.

Meanwhile at Alcona Glen Public School in Innisfil we witnessed something truly special led by The Art Engagement Project: a Caribbean musical experience brought to life for a kindergarten class through a steel pan experience with the incredibly talented Pan Fyah. Students didn’t just sit and watch, they listened to the history of steel pans, danced to the music, played the instruments, and even made their own. The energy in the room was unforgettable.

This is what cultural appreciation looks like in action. We are so proud to be part of making it happen.

The People Behind United Way Simcoe Muskoka

We were truly honoured to be supported by the 18th Annual Warden’s Gala, a milestone event that marks 18 years of extraordinary community generosity.

Over the course of those 18 years, the Warden’s Gala has raised more than $1 million in support of United Way Simcoe Muskoka and the vital programs that strengthen our community. That is a legacy worth celebrating.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Warden’s Gala over the years. Your generosity has changed lives, and we are deeply grateful.
