The non-gala awards a real door prize

It seems NOT doing something can be a lot of fun! Our No-Show Giving Tuesday Gala (which was NOT held on November 27th), was buzzing on our Facebook and Twitter feeds in the days leading up to this year’s Giving Tuesday – thanks to everyone who participated.

While the gala was a non-starter, it featured a real door prize for a casual evening out for two, sponsored by Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint and Cineplex. The lucky winner was Barrie business-owner Alex Charlton, President of DS Digital Media.

“I chose to donate this holiday season to United Way of Simcoe Muskoka, as I wanted to donate to a charity that would have local impact and that would provide support in the vicinity of my business, Dunlop St. East, and throughout the Simcoe community. Since moving here five years ago, I have enjoyed the sense of community that Simcoe County provides and want to continue to see its people and businesses prosper. Merry Christmas.”

Merry Christmas back to you Alex – and thanks so much for your support!

It’s not too late

Although the no-show door-prize is off the table, all donations received by December 31, 2018, will be eligible for a 2018 charitable tax receipt and the tax benefits that come with it. Your donation will also stay local to help our most vulnerable neighbours who need help on their path from poverty to prosperity.
