100 IN 100 – WILL YOU BE COUNTED?

100 IN 100 – WILL YOU BE COUNTED?

How much can the world change in 100 days? How many local lives can be changed or even saved in that time?

At United Way Simcoe Muskoka, we’re up to the challenge of finding out. Are you?

From February 1 to May 11, individuals and businesses are invited to show our most vulnerable neighbours how much you care.

How? By answering the call of your community.

We’re seeking 100 donations in 100 days. As always, every dollar will stay here in our region to address our most critical social problems – tough issues like poverty, accessibility, inclusivity, and inadequate supports for our children and youth.

YOU CAN BE A LIFELINE

“My prayers have been answered,”

— said Fatu, a former shopkeeper and single mom who gained new job skills to start over after fleeing her war-torn African country.

Fatu benefitted from UWSM-funded programs to help move her life forward.

Your participation in the 100 in 100 Challenge will have the collective power to:

  • improve the earning potential of a parent through literacy training,
  • move a family into affordable, safe and secure housing,
  • allow a Deaf individual to live a connected, independent life,
  • ensure a senior has a ride to medical appointments,
  • match a child with an adult mentor to gain the confidence to do better in school,
  • help an adolescent gain healthy relationships and adopt a positive lifestyle,
  • teach a homeless teen how to live safely and transition successfully into adulthood,
  • and SO MUCH MORE!

Last year, more than 20,000 individuals across Simcoe Muskoka benefited directly from programs funded by United Way Simcoe Muskoka donors. That number increases exponentially when considering the benefit to members of their families … and local communities.

They’re the reason to care and the #ReasonToGive.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The 100 in 100 Challenge has two giving opportunities – as a business and as an individual.

Individuals across Simcoe Muskoka are encouraged to give a direct donation (single, monthly, or pledged over time), or use our program pledge sheet to fundraise peer-to-peer and submit a collective donation. The top 100 in 100 fundraiser will win a brand new Napoleon barbeque – just in time for the May long weekend!

Participating companies will be recognized across UWSM’s social media channels (including Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn), in our blog and on our website. They’ll join our regional network to build stronger communities and change local lives.

As always, donations remain 100% local. Tax receipts will be automatically generated for gifts of $20 or more.
