Local Love

What does local love look like transparent

Local love is every act that we do to make our region just a little bit better. It’s lending a hand to someone in need. It’s posting a photo of our beautiful communities. It’s organizing a volunteer event with your friends.

United Way Simcoe Muskoka is dedicated to spreading local love throughout our communities. We do it through raising awareness of local issues and making them #UNIGNORABLE. We do it by funding critical programs from Huntsville to the Town of Blue Mountains to Bradford. We do it by highlighting great members and organizations that are doing great work right here at home. Most importantly, we do it by filling the gaps and making sure no one has to face poverty alone.

We invite you to subscribe to our newsletter, read about what’s going on in Simcoe Muskoka and help spread your own local love. See what we’re up to and how United Way Simcoe Muskoka is driving change in our communities.

However, there is a way that donors can increase their gifts without directly impacting their week-to-week ability to pay the bills and cover their own household expenses: through a gift of stocks, stock options, or mutual funds....

  • These are challenging times. Looming tariffs and threats to Canada’s sovereignty bring further disruption to an economy where already too many are falling behind. Your United Way is committed to being a force for good, but we need your help to do it....

  • As we step into 2025, we do so with hope, determination, and a shared commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive community. Hope is what fuels our work—hope that together, we can create real change for those struggling with poverty, homelessness, and hardship. This year, there are many ways to turn hope into action: walk with us at the Coldest Night of the Year in Bradford and Midland, join the conversation at our Poverty Reduction Task Group session, donate to power the work we do in collaboration with partners across the communities we serve, or share your voice as we shape the future of United Way Simcoe Muskoka through our strategic plan check-in....
