During the Month of Hope, GenNext Simcoe Muskoka is inviting you to join us in stretching out your quarantine-weary limbs and get moving to support Simcoe Muskoka residents living in poverty with #HopeMoves.
With #HopeMoves, we are challenging Simcoe Muskoka residents of any age to get moving and aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity per day. Make a team of up to ten people so you can work together, even if you’re far apart, and try to be the team that gives our communities the most hope. After forming your team, you will receive a unique URL that you can use to fundraise until the end of March, or you can use our pledge form to gather pledges based on the number of days you reach your 30-minute goal.
Before the pandemic, there were more than 60,000 people in Simcoe Muskoka who were living in poverty. Only time will tell us how much that number has increased over the last year, but United Way Simcoe Muskoka will be there for those who need assistance as we recover from this crisis. When you participate in #HopeMoves, you will be directly assisting the Simcoe Muskoka residents who access our Urgent Needs Fund. To make your contribution go even further, Glueckler Metals Inc. has provided a matching gift for the Month of Hope, doubling the value and impact that the money you raise has.
When: March 8-21, 2021

Every day, more than 60,000 residents of Simcoe Muskoka face the hardships and obstacles caused by poverty. These hurdles can make everyday necessities out of reach; paying for utilities, buying healthy food for your family, securing transportation to a job or finding affordable childcare are just some of the difficulties that poverty creates.
By participating in #HopeMoves, you are supporting the poverty alleviation and social inclusion work that United Way Simcoe Muskoka facilitates across our communities through our Urgent Needs Fund. Whether it be providing winter clothing or mattresses for a family, keeping the lights on or putting food on the table, the Urgent Needs Fund has helped individuals and families across Simcoe Muskoka when no one else can.
