Harvey’s Wasaga Beach fundraiser

New ownership at Harvey’s Wasaga Beach launches United Way fundraiser

Harvey’s restaurant opened on Wasaga Beach’s Main Street in 2009, but new owner and president Anand Patel is serving up community support this holiday season with a week-long fundraiser for United Way Simcoe Muskoka.

Patel wants to let his new neighbours know how committed he is to the wellbeing of Wasaga Beach, so from Dec. 17 – 23, he’s donating a portion of sales to the registered charity to address poverty in local communities. The fundraiser is expected to continue as an annual event.

“I’m new in the community and I’m here to make a change and help it grow,” says Patel, who invites area residents to drop in for a meal and to meet the team. “We also want to raise awareness of the great work United Way supports in our area and the resources they help make available. Their community-building goals and mine are similar.”

Located at 349 Main Street in Wasaga Beach, the restaurant is open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“The community spirit of the team here at Harvey’s Wasaga Beach is incredibly infectious,” says UWSM’s Relationship Manager Laara Losier. “We’ve been having a lot of fun teaming up with them to launch this initiative and hope everyone in town will support their efforts, and the network of local charities that benefit from donations to United Way Simcoe Muskoka.”
