September 30th, is an important step in the reconciliation process, providing the invitation for our communities to acknowledge our country’s history of systemic racism, recognize and commemorate the tragic legacy of residential schools, the missing children and to honour their survivors, their families, and communities.

As a community-based organization, United Way Simcoe Muskoka is committed to Indigenous reconciliation. We acknowledge our Indigenous staff and volunteers across the network, we recognize the intergenerational trauma resulting from colonialism and the residential school system, and we hold space for you on your healing journey.
