Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy
Rural and Remote (Ontario)
CALL FOR CAPITAL APPLICATIONS OPEN NOW (2021-2022)
Please note: Funding is conditional on approval from Parliament, expected in June 2021.
United Way Simcoe Muskoka, in partnership with its Regional Advisory Board (RAB), invites organizations operating in rural and remote communities across Ontario to submit funding applications for consideration for capital projects.
The Government of Canada is taking decisive action to help communities address the impacts of the pandemic among people experiencing, or at risk of homelessness, and to provide additional support to the homeless-serving sector during this period.
A total of $2,619,222 will be available to support capital projects to increase the capacity or improve the quality of facilities that address the needs of individuals and families who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness, including those that support culturally appropriate programming for Indigenous individuals and families. Successful capital projects will focus on creating new or maintaining existing housing units.
Projects must take place during the funding period of September 2021 to March 31, 2022.
Application deadline: Monday, July 5, 2021 at 5:00pm EST
Please review the Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) ‘Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy Directives’ found here before submitting an application.
Pay specific attention to Section 1 E and Section 6 of the Directives.
