Holiday with a Hero is back, and we’re honoured to once again partner with Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions and local heroes such as police, paramedics, firefighters, and military, to create a magical day for local children.
How does it work?
Through our community partners, the Holiday with a Hero program pairs children with local heroes – police, paramedics, firefighters, and military. Each pair will receive a Walmart gift card on the morning of November 18th to go shopping, so that the children can give gifts to their family this holiday season. This lets the children be the heroes and experience the joy of giving to their families, accompanied by a hero.
The only rule? Each child must buy at least one thing for themselves. After the shopping is done, the children get a hero escort to a holiday party at the Innisfil YMCA for a pancake breakfast with the heroes, activities, gift wrapping, a visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus, and other holiday FUN!
